NOTES ON THE WORKSHOP:

(Since most of the workshops are not being recorded, attendees' notes will be the only record available.)

Deepak provided a very easy-to-comprehend top-line summary of the advances in quantum mechanics as they relate to the ability of the individual to connect with their essential Self and affect change in their own biology and neurology; I took my 17-yr old son and for him it offered a huge "ah-ha" in individual responsibility and accountability.

...............

[question about the above comment] could you please provide that easy - to - comprehend summary in this space? Or is the writing below that summary?

In this workshop, Dr. Chopra describes the differences in paradigms of Classical Physics vs. Quantum Mechanics, and how this understanding can give us a better insight into the relationships between the mind, body, soul, and consciousness. Classical physics employs a reductionist view, where matter can be described by the sum of the structural physical components. The measurement and observation of physical events is at the heart of classical physics. In the quantum mechanics paradigm, matter is made of subatomic particles that are not physical entities, but rather fluctuations of energy. In the new paradigm, empirical science cannot directly observe the physical phenomena. There is also a contradiction in interpretation in quantum mechanics, whether subatomic particles can be manifested as particles when interacting with other particles, or as waves when left alone.

In nature, there is no such thing as structure; there is only process. The human body is always in dynamic activity with the ecosystem, with all these processes are entangled. The body has 100 trillion cells, and each cell is aware of the processes of the other cells. The cell is in constant rejuvenation and regulation of the balance of its minerals such as calcium and phosphorus. At the same time, these cell are in a dynamic process of interacting, and relating to the Earth's rotation, gravitation, seasonal rhythms, lunar rhythms, and the circadian rhythms.

Consciousness can be described as a wave, that which has possibility and potential. The creation of the universe evolved from fields of potentiality, into energy, matter and then the universe. The soul is our own consciousness where the thoughts come from. The mind is an activity of the soul.

Dr. Chopra asks the question: how does the brain create consciousness? The soul is the field of infinite possibility, and the brain actualizes the memory. The quantum vacuum is consciousness, which can be described as a field of infinite possibility, field of instantaneous correlation, field of uncertainty, field of creativity, and the intention field.

TAKEAWAYS:

(What have you found out in this workshop that you can use right away?)

the guided meditation, while compressed in terms of ideal time gave a tangible and visceral experience of connecting with the wave energy and impressing intent upon it for creation.

Dr. Chopra gives a technique for changing our own emotional state, with the acronym SODA. 1. S = Stop 2. O = Observe (our body process) 3. D = Detach (from the body's automatic response) 4. A = Automaticity

He also describes the 4 stages of yoga. 1. Yoga of being (stillness, from transcendence) 2. Yoga of feeling (divine feeling of love and equanimity) 3. Yoga of understanding (self-understanding and reflection, i.e. Who am I, and what is the meaning of my life) 4. Yoga of doing (karma yoga). Then detach from the consequences of the action, and go into stillness.

YOUR IDEAS ABOUT THE WORKSHOP, RELATED TOPICS AND ACTION:

would love to see this education give to high school students!

.......................

[question about the above comment] Are you in a position to give this education to students, or to think about how it might be presented? I wasn't able to attend the workshop. Was there any discussion of already existing materials that are appropriate for students at various levels of education?
